Dining Tip: Ditch the Garlic
Ok, garlic. We all love it, I know. But you’ve gotta set some boundaries on that puppy.
Here is my rule: if it’s a first date, no garlic. Ever. If you’ve dated but want some action, no garlic. If you’ve been together for a while, ask your partner if she doesn’t mind you having garlic.
Why, you ask? Aren’t you supposed to order for her and yourself and not ask? Well, not today. Although it’s nice to take the order for your date and relay that to the server, I think it is more than manners to ask your date if she doesn’t mind garlic.
If you have garlic, and she doesn’t, you’ll be spouting bad breath all night and that’s no fun. If she’s game, and is going to have garlic too, it doesn’t matter. If you eat garlic, you don’t smell it as strongly.
So, that’s where it stands. Just be polite. Wouldn’t a great kiss be better than eating garlic?
