Hot Trends For Spring 2008
From the recently concluded Milan(D&G, Armani, Missoni, Versace) as well as Paris Fashion Week showcasing the 2008 Spring/Summer Men’s look , Men.Style has compiled their top 10 list of what will supposedly be the hottest trends for Spring 2008 in Men’s Fashion. Here they are with my own observations :
1. Hammer Pants. Yes, we’re talking about MC Hammer’s pants.
2. Neon Signs. Just please try not to blind somebody.
3. Sheer Modesty. Make sure you shave and do some abs workout, heh.
4. The Hockney Effect.
5. All Zipped Up. Try not to go over board.
6. The Shawl Thing. Making the formal suit a daytime option.
7. Flood Alert. Cropping ‘em pants…
8. Synth Rock. Non-natural fabrics..
9. Light and Layered. My favorite
10. Pajama Game. Not sure about this trend

UNREAL indeed. It wasn’t stylish before. It’s not going to be ever. *sigh*

WHY is this dumpy, shapeless look so big lately? Close fitting clothes always look better on a body, or at least a fit-and-flare look. Mumu dresses and saggy, sloppy pants will never be fashionable for ready to wear, no matter what the big fashion houses say is artsy for the season.

Aiisha, except for Missoni whose one of the trademarks is color, almost all the designers have put out gray, black and white colors for Spring 2008.

The colors being gray, black, and white is good because thats like basically all the my updated wardrobe consists of! With a spot of bright colors here and there.

Where can I get an affordable slim white oxford-cloth button-down-collar dress shirt? The one in that GQ section is $560 by Thom Brown. I like to keep my shirts in the $50-$75 neighborhood.

I love how designers of all kinds have been trying season after season to get men to wear crop pants. No man wants to wear capris, No woman wants to see a man in capris, No man wants to see another man in capris, not even metro-or homo-sexuals. On one of the TV shows I styled, the Costumer Designer gave me the duty to convince an actor to wear these pants… needless to say he did not wear those pants. We found him something else.
