Long sleeved shirts rolled with tie?

by Arieanna on September 29th, 2005

A really good comment was left on my post about the no-no of wearing a tie with a short sleeved shirt.

Jesse Says:

What about your regular long-sleeve button shirt with the sleeves rolle dup… does revealing the arms eliminate the tie option?

Arieanna Says:

Good question - and the answer is, go for it.

The act of rolling up the sleeves does not make it a short sleeve shirt. Unless your shirt is too big, you won’t be able to roll it past your elbows, but rather just before your elbows. This will add some casual style to you without affecting the combo of tie + shirt.

I agree! The rolled up sleeves is a nice casual look.

Yeah, it says “I’m happy wearing a dress shirt. I feel comfortable in it”

i’ve been a big fan of the “roll-up” look for going on a decade now - it’s not only chic, but masculing and not to mention practical …all the guys at work have now “followed suit” (ha ha..pardon the pun) - you could say im “big man on campus” around the place now…happy rollin, Jimmy Mase
