Merino V-Neck Sweater
This is a great staple item for your closet. It’s a merino v-neck sweater - basically a really high quality v-neck sweater. It’s made of 100% merino wool, so it’s light, soft, and breathes well. And it’s machine washable.
This one is from The Gap for $44.50 and comes in 6 colours. It has some nice detailing at the wrists and waist without tapering in there, which is bad.
I would start with the basics first: the black and the charcoal grey. Colourful sweaters are great, but they stand out too much if you wear them a lot. Neutrals like brown, black and grey can be layered without making them seem like the “main” item.
When you try on a v-neck sweater, take in two shirts with you to see how they look: one crew neck tshirt and one collared dress shirt. That way you can see how you’d actually wear it, since it’s not an item you throw on without anything underneath.
Do you have any v-neck sweaters yet?

I noticed a selection of long-sleeve mock turtlenecks in my local stores.
Am I gonna be able to wear those this year and what’s my best look with them ?

I actually, as luck would have it, tried on some v-neck sweaters tonight at Old Navy (The Gap’s little brother in case you didn’t know). Unfortunately the cut and colours didn’t seem to suite me.
I’ll definitely be stopping by The Gap later this week though, I noticed a sale sign in the window as I walked past.
As I side note, Old Navy has long sleeved, crew neck shirts on sale, 2 for $25. I grabbed a couple white ones as a base for layering.
