My Valentine’s Day
Well, being a gal, and a soon to be married one at that, I thought I’d share my Valentine’s Day with everyone.
This year was an impressive one! Now, I love my fiance (Ianiv), but he’s not usually the romantic sort. It comes quite painfully to him (yes, painfully. Not just hard, but painful).
So, Ianiv knew I was stressed and that I needed something extra this year. And he did an amazing job!
The day before Valentine’s he beat the rush to the florist and got me a lovely bunch of orchids - one large white stem and two pale pink. Picked each stem himself - which is the perfect mix of a) flowers I like and b) attention to detail, that makes the flowers more special.
Valentine’s Day itself he gave me a beautiful card - handmade by a Japanese artist - and a set of Japanese dishes. I am a huge fan of beautiful things for entertaining, and his choice was really beautiful. The plates have a nice flower motif. It’s not your standard Valentine’s gift, but it’s a gift perfect for me and my tastes - and that’s what makes it a great Valentine’s gift.
And the day after Valentine’s Day we went to dinner. Again, to avoid the rush. Much to my preference - I knew the day before we’d be going out and that was enough. We went to a local seafood restaurant on the beach and had steak and lobster. Lovely.
So, despite being absolutely sick, I had a lovely Valentine’s celebration. For us, it was the first break we’d taken in a couple of months (been crazy, really), and that was the best part.
What did I get him? We’re going for a massage together at the Spa. Again, all about the relaxation and taking a much needed break from work and the upcoming wedding ;)
