Pink Polo

Have you considered pink? It seems to be the “male” shade all over town. I even met one guy at a party who reportedly had more pink shirts than his wife. So, it’s now ok to wear pink, and even fairly stylish to do so. Just avoid the ruffles ;)

The one shown is from Penguin, for $45. I think I’d opt for the polo style like this rather than a dress shirt - unless it’s a striped shirt, because you know I love those.

Guys wearing pink maybe okay from the ladies perspective… but I don’t know of a straight man that could get away with wearing a pink shirt for an entire day without getting any flak for it from his buds… but maybe that’s just me. =)

I tried a few pink shirts on during a few shopping trips but they didn’t work out. A little warning for anyone that has fair skin — pink won’t work. I tried different shades but having a light skin tone means you’re better off sticking to other colours.

Yep, it’s the “buds” issue that’ll do you in.

Mike, thanks for the reply. Choosing a pink shirt to match skin tone is really all about the shades. I cannot guarantee it is perfect for every guy (there are a lot of factors, but) the guy I saw wearing the pink shirt mentioned in the article was super fair. If you are into pink, why not toss me a picture and ask me to find something?

I’m a fair-skinned redhead and I’ve always considered pink to be a no-no. I generally look good in fall colors. I see from your reply above that there might be a shade that would work. I think my girlfriend would love it! Maybe I’ll send you a picture and see what you can come up with.

William - don’t give up trying, maybe a shade of pink might work well. As a general rule, you are correct - red and pink don’t go so well together. However, if you send on a pic I’ll give you a more definitive answer.
